In the scholastic section, Darien B. won first place with a perfect score of 5 wins! Kenneth D. came in second place with 4 wins and third place was shared between Mike Y. and Jai G., who both finished with 3.5 points. Fritz V., Moitri S., James Y., and Colton B. all had 3 points and tied for 4th place. The remaining players received medals for the effort that they put into their games. Great job everyone!

Congratulations goes to Fritz V. in the scholastic section who, entering the tournament with a rating of 545, came in first place with a perfect score of 5-0 and boosted his rating by 270 points to 815. Great job Fritz!
One School's Andrew T. won clear second place as the only player with 4 points. Aidan G., Jiya B., and Sritej S. all finished with 3.5 points to share 3rd place. Avi G. and Ivan G. won 4th and 5th place respectively, with 3 points. The remaining players were awarded participation medals for the effort that they put into their games. Great job everyone!
In the quick section, Brandon Sibbitt—who had four upset wins—and Yevgeny Postrekhin both finished with 4 points and tied for first place.

There was a 5-way tie for third place, shared between Braden N., Joel M., Aidan G., Kenneth D., and Fritz V.; all of these players finished with 3 points. All of the remaining players received participation medals for the effort that they put into their games. Congratulations everyone!
In the Quick section, there was a 3-way tie for first between Martin Hansen, Alexander Zelner, and Theo Slade.

Thank you to all of the scholastic players who competed in the OCG/OCA October tournament! There was a 3-way tie for first place in the scholastic section, where Aidan G., Simon G., and Brandon N. all earned 4 points. Moreover, Simon and Brandon both gained impressive rating increases! Daniel H. won second place as the only player with 3.5 points, and finishing with 3 points were Andrew T., Avi G., Luke W., Pacey Q., and Rodolfo F. All of the remaining players received participation medals for the hard effort they put into their games. Congratulations everyone!
In the Quick section, Kai Tabor won first place with a score of 4 points, tying with Alex Zelner and Yilmer Guzman. Theo Slade, Yevgeney Postrehkin, and Martin Hansen each finished with 3.5 points, with Postrehkin (who was rated at least 150 points lower than his fellow placers!) winning the cash prize on tiebreaks.

We'd like to thank everyone who participated in our Scholastic and Quick tournament last Saturday; we enjoyed a good turnout of 20 players in our Scholastic section and 11 in the Quick section! This month's event featured an additional prize, as all players received complimentary tickets to the special screening event of the upcoming Disney movie "Queen of Katwe."
In the scholastic section, Neel S. entered the playing field and emerged again as the clear winner with a score of 4 points, having not lost a game. Leading right behind him were Drew S., Alexandra Z., Aidan G., and Jonathan W., who each finished the tournament with 4 points as well — fantastic job everyone!
In the Quick tournament, Martin Hansen won first place with a score of 4.5 points. Arnold Banner, who finished with 4 points after two upset wins in Rounds 3 and 4, came in second place; Theo Slade came in third place with 3.5 points.

To simplify entry into our events, OCG/OCA has eliminated its multiple entry fee deadlines in favor of either Early Entry Online or Onsite entry fees.
Early Entry Fee payments and registration are only available on our website until midnight on the Friday before each event. There is a $1 transaction fee when making payments online. You will be requested to submit our simple registration form before completing checkout to get you entered into the tournament; it only takes a few minutes!
On-site entry fee payments and registration can be made on the morning of the event on-site between 9:15-9:45am with Cash, Check, Debit/Credit (Reg & Chip), Apple Pay, Android Pay and Samsung Pay (NFC wireless payments). There is a $2 transaction fee for all forms of on-site electronic payment methods.
We'd like to thank all the players who participated in our Saturday 1-Day tournament last weekend! There were 29 players in the scholastic section and 13 players in the quick section. The tournament was hosted by the UCF Chess Club and was held in the newly renovated Key West Ballroom at UCF's Student Union Complex.

With a strong crowd of scholastic chess players, it would be Neel S. who would sweep the scholastic section with a perfect score of 5-0! Congratulations to Neel S. for his perfect performance among a field of 29 scholastic players.
Honorable mentions also go to Kareena S., Anavi M. & Aayush C. who all tied for 2nd place with 4 points. Aarash C. & Aidan G. finished in 3rd place, each with 3.5 points; Steven H., Arthur V., Michelle M., Avi G., Ranjiv S., Elijah S. & Serena H. all tied for 4th place with 3 points. Great job you guys! All other players received participation medals for the hard work they put into their games!

The quick tournament concluded with a tie for 1st place with Ryan Hamley & Jacob Smalberger each scoring 4 points in the 5 round quick tournament. Great job and congratulations to both of you!

The Orlando Chess & Games Center Is excited to announce that it has launched a completely new mobile-friendly website and has resumed its monthly USCF Scholastic & Open Quick tournament schedule at its new UCF location.
To better accommodate our tournament players and their families, OCG has been invited by the UCF Chess Club to move its tournament operations to UCF's Main Campus in the spacious Cape Florida Ballroom (Room #316) located on the 3rd floor of the Student Union building.
