Special Scholastic Tournament To Be Held On Saturday, September 15th SIGN UP TODAY!
Date: 09/10/07
Orlando Chess and Games will be hosting a special scholastic tournament on Saturday September 15. The tournament's goal is to bring students taking lessons at OCG, as well as aspiring scholastic players together for a short day of chess competition and instruction.
The event will kick-off at 10AM. There will be G/30 four-round tournament, with rounds at 10, 11, 12:30 and 1:30. We expect all players to be rated between 800 and 1400. Because the goal is to have players of comparable ability to compete against one another, there may be two sections if required.
After the tournament is over there will be a small awards ceremony. All competing players will recieve an award, with trophies for the top finishers. Immediately following the awards ceremony there will be an approximately 1 hour long lecture given by Master Zelner and coach Steven. Two or three of the games from the tournament will be selected to be analyzed, and to provide instruction to the young players.
If you would like to participate in a day of chess competition and chess improvement for all involved, please contact Steven Vigil at 321-297-7087.
