The October OCG OPEN was held this past Saturday, on the 22nd. Some guy named Chuck Hall (2030) won. Well if you haven't heard of resident expert Charles "Chuck" Hall, then you haven't been playing chess in Central Florida for that long or you haven't been playing enough! In all seriousness, we would like to congratulate Chuck for his perfect performance this past Saturday. He defeated two talented young players in Lucas Van Beuzekom (1649)  and Jonathan Chin (1530)en route to his 4 point performance.

Lucas ended up with three points to tie for second place with Dr. Catherine Zelner, OCG's matriarch (1531), who has been on a rampage as of late in what is a great story. Catherine's rating has gone up steadily, over 350 points since February of 2004. She has accomplished this while having twin girls (Rosa and Zoe Zelner) in the Summer of 2004! Her only loss this Saturday came at the hands of Lucas van Beuzekom in an opposite-color bishop endgames that probably should have been drawn. Congrats to Catherine, She is on fire!
